In 2019, Telford & Wrekin Council declared a climate emergency. It is now working, along with partners, to go carbon neutral by 2030 – and to reduce single-use plastic across the council by 2023!

How can I get more information on climate change and what can I do to help?

We’re really keen for everyone to play their part in reducing carbon emissions in the borough and getting rid of single-use plastics.

Find out about the causes and impacts of climate change and learn how you can reduce your contribution to climate change :

  • Friends of the Earth - An environmental campaigning community dedicated to the wellbeing and protection of the natural world and everyone in it.
  • Surfers Against Sewage - A community dedicated to the protection of oceans, waves, beaches and wildlife.
  • The Met Office - climate change - Including a climate change guide, news, policy and reference to other sources of information.
